Trolling Fishing -Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters

While fishing in South Florida, you’ll find that trolling is very popular. Opposite from Wreck or bottom fishing, the boat is typically moving along the two reefs located off Fort Lauderdale Beach. The fish that are mostly targeted are anything from mahi mahi, kingfish, wahoo, cobia, tuna, and yes….. sharks and sailfish. Kite fishing is done while trolling. We actually fly a kite and drop a live bait from the kite to the surface of the water. This type of fishing takes skill from our amazing South Florida crew. Kite Fishing is really exciting. The suspended live bait swashes around the top of the water, resembling a distress and wounded fish. The most attracted fish is shark, or sailfish. You can actually watch your fish attack the bait and reel and see the whole process.

I'm going to give these guys a 4 star, and I do mean a 4 star. Obviously there will be some complaints. First off, we got a heck of a deal for two guys to have a private charter for 5 hours. Gino and Andy were the crew members that helped us out. Andy was laid back and all about the fishing. Gino, feisty but fun (he's rough around the edges but a good guy). The waters were calm so, fishing for the big ones were going to be hard. We only took about 45 min to bait fish, and we caught a lot of them. Within the first 20 minutes of casting out, we caught our first Mahi Mahi, and within 5 minutes after that, we caught our second. The crew said they were trophies (both were around 15-20lbs and 43 inches long). Literally within 5-10 minutes after catching the second Mahi Mahi, my buddy caught a horse eye jack it was about 35 inches. Finally caught a small barracuda after that. Fishing was slow as the afternoon went on, but we were happy.
